Guidelines for our official support channel
- Do not ask to ask! Just plainly state your question.
- If possible, provide additional information to your question. Or ask which additional information might be required.
- Imagine you'd have to grasp an issue with someone else's computer on which you have no way to look at directly. What would you expect from said someone to report to yourself so you'd able to help.
- Be patient! Depending on the time of day or whether it is a weekend, it might take some hours till someone is there to respond. Usually it doesn't, though.
- Use paste.debian.net to provide more than three lines of error messages, console output, content of a file or such. In case you paste too many lines, wou'll get automatically kicked. This is nothing personal, it just prevents the channel from being flooded. The ban will only last a few minutes, you're welcome to join again afterwards.
- We try to keep the
#devuan
channel free from not Devuan support related talk. You're welcome to talk about anything in our#devuan-offtopic
channel.
